e learning system allows adult students to study from home E-learning system allows adult students to study from homeDubai, UAE: The Ministry of Education announced yesterday that it will digitalise the adult education system in the country, to allow adult students to learn in the comfort of their home.

The announcement came in light of the Minister of Education, Humaid Mohammad Al Qutami’s launch of the first group of adult education digital textbooks.

Through the use of e-books and electronic platforms, the ministry hopes to utilise technology in order to help adult students study at their own time from their own homes.

Speaking about the project, the minister said the project aims to make the pursuit of education more attractive to adult learners in order to maintain the UAE’s less than one illiteracy percentage or reduce it even further.

To implement the ‘Distance learning for adult education’ project, the minister of education signed a memorandum of understanding with Etisalat

As part of the MOU, Etisalat will provide internet access, it will also provide a Cloud Computing services to store digital information and provide technical consultancy to support the implementation and the development of the project.

Four adult education books have also been chosen to be transformed into interactive e-books for those who attend grade 12 literature classes, that includes the subjects biology, history, Arabic and math.

An electronic platform will also be created for the adult students to access all the required educational material from home.
