Abu Dhabi, UAE: In response to the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in collaboration with local and federal authorities on higher education and their work to deliver and explain the mechanisms of services provided by the Ministry, a meeting has been held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi with all local and federal scholarship authorities to introduce regulations of certificate equivalency.
The regulations in the equivalency law were discussed, in addition to the new regulations, in order to spread the Ministry?s policy on certificate equivalency, particularly after the amendments that have been adopted by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, on the conditions of studying in the country of study for graduate studies, and to emphasise the academic standards adopted by the Ministry in certificate equivalency to ensure the quality of higher education and to support innovation and creativity.
The Ministry in 2014 completed the equivalency of 9,183 applications for certificate equivalency issued by various countries around the world and of all academic Degrees, representing 92 percent of the number of applications submitted to the Certificate Equivalency Department of the Ministry, a rate of growth of 27 percent from the year 2011.
258 applications for certificate equivalency were declined for non-conformity of the terms of certificate equivalency, while 7,585 certificates were approved, and 1,340 certificates were equalised by the Committee. 22 were detected as false certificates.
