Returning for the 2015 show, Al Ain Reads is an eight-day celebration of Emirati Writers. The event features an extensive cultural programme highlighting the literary production of Emirati writers, offering them the chance to meet their readers and discuss a wide variety of literary and creative topics.
Featuring an enhanced programme to attract literary and cultural enthusiasts, the event has announced registrations open for all publishers interested in participating. The show this year has been extended to eight days in response to requests from both publishers and visitors and because of the remarkable response received at the last year’s sixth edition.
More than 31,000 people from across the city visited the book show in 2014, including school and university students. More than 67 local publishers participated in Al Ain Reads 2014, displaying more than 55,000 Arabic and English literary and scientific titles. A group of Emirati writers took part in a series of seminars and discussion sessions throughout the duration of the show, while the ‘Creativity Corner’ was a major attraction for children who, along with their parents, enjoyed a unique experience in the world of books, reading and creativity.
The event is organized by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi).
